Polish tokenisation research reaches the WAIFC Young Academic Award final

A paper by Wiktoria Chrzanowska and Adam Dejda was selected among the three finalists of the WAIFC Young Academic Award 2026. Chrzanowska, of SGH Warsaw School of Economics, presented the research at the Alliance’s Annual General Meeting in Busan on 15 September.

The paper, “The Programmable Citadel: International Financial Centers and the Architecture of Global Tokenized Capital Markets”, examines the role financial centres could play in the development of tokenised markets.

Standards and trust across markets

The authors argue that financial centres can help shape governance, standards and interoperability. Their proposed Interoperable Trust Architecture describes how centres could cooperate to build trusted financial ecosystems that connect across borders.

The selection brings Polish academic work into an international discussion involving organisations responsible for the development of financial centres. The other finalists were Natalie Playford of the University of Toronto and Won Woo of Hanyang University.

Tokenisation is also a focus of Future Finance Poland’s Digital Assets specialisation and its report “Digital Assets, Real Economy”. The finalist paper adds an academic perspective to a subject that connects financial technology with the organisation and governance of markets.

Future Finance Poland congratulates both authors on their selection.
