Paweł Widawski, President of the Board of Future Finance Poland, moderated a panel on the digital euro at the 17th Congress of Banking Law and Financial Technologies. The expert day took place on 19 May 2026 at the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The panel considered whether the digital euro represents an evolution or a revolution in money in the European Union. Participants included Antonina Karwasińska of Bank Pekao, Krzysztof Korus of DLK Legal and Łukasz Hardt of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority Office.
The digital euro featured within a wider programme on changes affecting the financial sector. Other sessions addressed stablecoins, the impact of MiCA and cybersecurity obligations. The congress opened with a lecture by Jacek Jastrzębski, Chair of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
Organised by the Banking Law Students’ Association at the University of Warsaw’s Faculty of Law and Administration, the event connected practitioners, public institutions and the academic community. Widawski also serves as the association’s academic supervisor.
His participation brought FFP’s engagement with digital payments and financial innovation into a forum examining the legal foundations of the sector’s development.
