Future Finance Poland (FFP) and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) have signed a cooperation agreement. BGK – as a Polish development bank and one of the key participants in the Polish financial market – joins the group of FFP Partners, actively engaging in the implementation of joint projects for the construction of an international financial center in Poland
Strategic partnership for the Polish financial center
The agreement is strategic in nature. BGK brings to the cooperation over a hundred years of unique experience as a Polish development bank. As the only institution of its kind in Poland, it implements development programs, finances innovation and the digital transformation of the Polish economy, and actively operates on international markets. BGK’s participation strengthens the public dimension of FFP and confirms that building a Polish financial center is a priority that goes beyond the private sector.
The agreement opens the way for joint projects in areas covered by FFP’s activities, including:
- Financial innovation.
- Optimization of the regulatory environment.
- Development of market participants’ competencies.
- Promotion of Poland as a financial center on the international arena
“Poland consistently strengthens its position as a modern financial center of Central Europe. Initiatives such as Future Finance Poland perfectly fit into BGK’s strategy, whose goal is, among others, to support the development of innovative sectors of the economy. We create conditions in which domestic capital can effectively drive the development of modern financial services, strengthening the competitiveness of the entire economy. This direction is fully consistent with BGK’s mission – building lasting foundations for growth and economic security for Poland. Joining the Future Finance Poland initiative will allow us to shape the future of Polish finance on the European arena together with market leaders.”
— Jarosław Dąbrowski, member of the management board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.
Public and private sectors – together for the Polish financial center
The Future Finance Poland initiative brings together dozens of institutions from the financial, technological, and public sectors. Its goal is to position Poland as a competitive financial center capable of competing with established European financial hubs. BGK’s participation – alongside private sector institutions – gives this undertaking a clear national dimension and confirms its strategic importance for the Polish economy.
“Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego joining the group of Future Finance Poland Partners is another important step in building a strong coalition for the development of the Polish financial center. BGK, as the Polish development bank and an institution of strategic importance for the Polish economy, is a natural and extremely valuable Partner for us. Together, we will work towards making Warsaw a recognizable, competitive financial center on the map of Europe and the world.”
— Paweł Widawski, President of the Board of Future Finance Poland
Poland on the map of global finance
The agreement aligns with FFP’s broader goal – to make Warsaw a recognizable financial center on the map of Europe and the world. FFP is a member of the World Alliance of International Financial Centres (WAIFC) and the EU Roundtable of Financial Centres, acting as a joint venture of market participants, a platform for dialogue, a think tank, and a tool for economic diplomacy. BGK’s accession is also a clear signal that Poland’s ambitions in this area are backed by the commitment of state institutions.
