From Compliance to Real-World Resilience: A Call to Action
On May 22, experts from across Europe gathered in Brussels for a high-level roundtable dedicated to strengthening cyber resilience in the financial sector. The event was organised by Future Finance Poland under the patronage of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council and the Ministry of Digital Affairs.
The main message was clear: cyber resilience is not a checklist — it is a mindset and an ongoing process. True security requires genuine collaboration — between institutions, regulators, sectors, and across borders.
Participants agreed on several key priorities:
- Train people to respond, not just to comply.
- Share data, even when it is difficult.
- Involve SMEs and adjacent sectors in building resilience.
- Educate users — they are part of the threat surface too.
- Treat DORA not as a burden but as a foundation for cooperation and a common standard.
This Call to Action summarises the insights of regulators and leaders from across the financial ecosystem. It is a roadmap for shifting from reactive compliance to active resilience-building.
The roundtable was moderated by Olga Budziszewska (Cyrima), with the summary prepared by Aneta Girdwoyń, Senior Lawyer at Future Finance Poland.
