In January, we held the third meeting of the Regulatory Benchmarking initiative within the Digital Payments specialization. During the session, we discussed topics identified by participants as top priorities.
Key discussions focused on regulatory challenges and the need for harmonizing reporting requirements at both national and EU levels. These topics were thoroughly analyzed by the working group between meetings, allowing for the identification of critical points.
Another important area of discussion was the process of implementing changes in payment schemes and payment systems, with participants sharing and reviewing best practices in this domain. We conducted an in-depth analysis of one of the regulatory barriers, which concerns differences in the regulation of payment schemes at the Polish and European levels, and the Regulatory Competitiveness Council has developed a position on this matter. The remaining regulatory barriers identified by specialization participants will be discussed in future meetings.
The Regulatory Competitiveness Council plays a vital role in supporting these discussions, providing expertise in developing and analyzing the most effective regulatory solutions.
