As part of the “Digital Payments” specialization coordinated by Mastercard at Future Finance Poland, we launched the initiative “Regulatory benchmarking in the field of Digital Payments.” The inaugural meeting took place on September 23rd.
The initiative is led by experts from the Office of the Financial Ombudsman, Michał Sas, and Katarzyna Szwedo-Mackiewicz, and by Anna Pater-Kacprzak from Autopay.
The goal is to create a substantive foundation for dialogue about regulations in the area of digital payments by:
- developing a list of regulatory barriers that hinder the development of digital payments in Poland,
- gathering best practices from reference markets for the identified barriers,
- identifying tools supporting consumer protection based on examples from other markets,
- preparing a list of priorities and submitting it to Future Finance Poland’s central regulatory dialogue functions (Regulatory Competitiveness Council) to propose legislative solutions.
We are looking forward to starting our analyses and working groups very soon!
